Let’s face it… there are a lot of internet service providers (ISPs) out there.
If you're selecting an ISP for the first time, or looking for a new one after being let down by your current provider you might find yourself struggling to pick. After visiting a few websites, the services all start to blend together.
“But Pilot,” you say, “They’re all pretty much the same, aren’t they?”
Not really.
Plenty of providers are “good enough.” But Pilot is the first ISP you'll fall in love with.
Why? Here are a few reasons.
We believe every business deserves fast, reliable internet.
Every business needs great internet to succeed. Full stop.
That's why we do whatever it takes to deliver the high standard of service your business deserves. No more struggling with patchy, unreliable internet that gets bogged down just when you need it most—Pilot’s got your back.
We provide you with the dedicated internet access you can rely on. With our uptime guarantee and industry-leading customer support available 24/7, you can count on Pilot to keep your business up and running.
“I manage a law firm which relies heavily on connectivity. From our initial contact with the sales department to installation to billing to marketing...Pilot has made my life easier. More importantly Pilot has helped our law firm to seamlessly continue to be connected to the world.” —Sharon Z, Kaiser Saurborn & Mair, P.C., September 2020 Google Review
We go the extra mile for customers who are usually shut out of quality internet.
In many parts of Manhattan, businesses may still find themselves struggling to get high-speed internet that won't leave them hanging when they need it most. At Pilot, we deploy services to previously difficult-to-access areas—from piers to heliports—ensuring that our customers have the internet service they need, when they need it.
We continue to build our expertise with different deployment types.
We know that New York buildings can be… quirky. To make sure we can bring you the best quality internet, no matter your location, layout, or historical landmark status, we offer multiple deployment types.
Not only do we bring fiber-optic internet to commercial buildings, we also have a fixed wireless deployment option for buildings that have no way to bring our fiber inside. This offering allows us to provide internet service in areas that might not otherwise have many options.
We add diverse fiber circuits to give customers full redundancy.
When you rely on your internet to do business, it's critical that you have full functionality at all times. Often businesses will work with multiple internet providers so they will have a backup if one experiences an outage. (Downtime is expensive.)
But, in many buildings, Pilot can add data center and/or point-of-entry (POE) redundancy. We'll install an additional fiber circuit, with a diverse path, that will keep your business up and running, in spite of that pesky manhole explosion.
We own our network, end to end.
Chances are, thinking about how your internet service reaches your office isn’t at the top of your to-do list. But there’s a lot going on behind the scenes that can impact your service.
Most providers rely on a web of contractors—companies and individuals—to lay and maintain their fiber, meaning they aren’t fully in control of fulfilling promises they make to you about installs, repairs, response times, and more.
To ensure we’re able to keep our commitments to our customers, Pilot owns and operates our network. We lay our own fiber and have an in-house construction crew, so we can get fiber-optic internet to our customers faster.
"The city cut fibers somewhere downtown once and Pilot updated me every couple hours and kept me in the loop with the repair. We were up and ready to go in less than a business day which was shocking considering it was a massive repair due to a third party. I wish my home internet provider was also Pilot!! If only!”—Angelissa P, Catchafire, Inc., June 2021 Google Review
We have an in-house construction crew that is fully equipped to make decisions in the field.
Many of our competitors use contractors to take care of their installation and construction needs. Unfortunately, those contractors may not have the ability to make vital decisions in the field.
If a contracted crew runs into unexpected issues or needs to revise their action plan, that construction crew usually can't do anything about it at the moment something happens. Waiting for approvals from different entities means an otherwise simple fix could take days (or even weeks) to resolve. Ain’t nobody got time for that.
“When a mover cut a cable and our entire company was down, they were onsite in under an hour.”—Sandy D, Alzheimer's Foundation of America, September 2020 Google Review
Since our on-site teams are Pilot employees, they’re empowered to make decisions on the spot. When we’re maintaining our network, there's no complicated approval system.
Instead, our in-house construction crew can adapt their plans on the fly based on the situations they encounter—like, you know, manhole cover explosions—giving them the freedom to find workarounds much faster. For our customers, that means faster and more effective installation and repairs.
We put our money where our mouth is.
Pilot invests in operational excellence so that we can provide you with superior internet service.
We have an industry-leading SLA.
Our Service Level Agreement—also called an SLA—is our commitment to our customers. We know that internet is critical to your business, and so, we’ve created a set of standards that if for some reason, we fall short of, we will credit you for.
For example, our DIA Service Level Agreement includes promises like these:
- “Pilot guarantees that subscribed bandwidth will be 100% available between any two points on Pilot’s network at all times”
- “In the event of an issue with your Pilot service, Pilot guarantees a 15-minute response interval for issue acknowledgment.”
- “Pilot guarantees that packet loss between any two points on Pilot’s network will not exceed 0.1% at any time.”
Those bullets and other guarantees make our SLA one of the best in the industry. (Seriously. Take a peek.) We know the high expectations you have of your internet, and we aim to deliver on them—and in many cases, exceed them.
We also offer outstanding 24/7 support that you can count on. And we’re not just saying that. An actual live human will pick up when you call us, no matter what time it is.
We work each month to earn your business, whether things are going smoothly or you've had problems that need to be dealt with. That's our no-contract promise in a nutshell: we don't take your business for granted, and we'll go the extra mile to ensure that you have the service you need.
“Everyone at the company is amazing to work with. Sales is responsive, honest, and transparent and support calls are answered by techs that *want* to help you solve your problem and will go above and beyond what's needed to make sure your service is working the way you need. I wish every company I worked with was as amazing as Pilot.” —Brian F, MayStreet LLC, June 2021 Google Review
Pilot is all-in on developing the next generation of business internet access.
As business needs continue to change, grow, and adapt, so will their internet demands. And Pilot is committed to investing in our network infrastructure to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to businesses’ connectivity.
Not only were we the first access network in the country to deploy real-time fiber monitoring, we’ve also built custom hardware-monitoring software, which means faster response times when diagnosing and solving issues. Plus, we offer 10 Gbps internet—the fastest in NYC. And that’s just the beginning.
With our eyes set firmly on the future, we’re finding ways to make your internet faster and more efficient than ever before.
Stop settling for an average ISP.
While you might see similar internet services and coverage areas, not all ISPs offer the same experience. Average ISPs leave you out to dry after you've made a purchase, locking you into contracts that allow them to prioritize cost savings over speed and reliability.
Don’t settle for delegating, delays and downtime.
Pilot is there for you, from start to finish. We provide the gold standard of service and support for our business customers—around the clock—and since we own our network, we can do whatever it takes (and we do!) to keep your internet up and running.
Reach out to us and we’ll help you join Shake Shack, ZocDoc, Casper and all the other NYC businesses that are powered by Pilot.
